Ashland-Boyd County Health Department Community Health Assessment (CHA) and
Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) Preliminary Findings Summary
The Ashland-Boyd County Health Department completed a Community Health Assessment and is now finalizing a Community Health Improvement Process. Thanks to the input and support from many community partners and individuals who are participating in the process and responded to our surveys, we identified the health issues that the community believes are of most concern in Boyd County. Results were broken down into 3 different perspectives regarding community health: data, organizational and individual perspectives. After analyzing over 800 surveys received, the following were the preliminary results:
Access and affordability of health care including insurance products
Tobacco and substance abuse
Teen pregnancy and birth rates
Physical Activity/ Nutrition
Need for jobs
We welcome your comments and participation as we continue to develop our Community Health Improvement Plan in partnership with the Healthy Choices Healthy Communities Coalition.
